Wesley Ball

Wes Ball serves as senior vice president in Edelman Global Advisory’s UK practice. He has worked at the highest levels of government, advising prime ministers, party leaders, secretaries of state, and CEOs. He advises a range of clients on how to navigate the UK political and regulatory environment with a particular focus on financial services policy and environmental policy.​

Before EGA, Mr. Ball had a 20-year career in politics and regulation. As special adviser to the UK’s Environment Secretary, he worked on landmark climate and nature legislation. In his time as director of the Parliamentary Labour Party, he supported the Shadow Cabinet develop its policy platform and delivered the party’s “preparing for government” program. As head of public affairs for the Financial Conduct Authority, he was responsible for the regulator’s relationships with Parliament, led the Woolard Review into unsecured credit, and worked closely with CEOs on legislation, Brexit, and the future of regulation.​

Mr. Ball has a degree in politics from Durham University. He has contributed to the last two editions of “The British General Election,” the definitive academic study of how Britain votes. Outside of EGA, he is co-chair of the Castle Church of England Federation of schools. ​
