EGA Names Catherine Heaney as President, EGA Ireland

Wednesday, September 4, 2024 — WASHINGTON, D.C. — Edelman Global Advisory (EGA) today announced that Catherine Heaney will serve as President, EGA Ireland.

Catherine joins EGA with over 25 years of professional experience as a strategic consultant, managing director, and board chair leading full-service public relations, government relations, and public affairs work focused on public interest issues. With strong networks among government, industry, and media stakeholders in Ireland and internationally, she brings strategic thinking, pragmatic approaches, and business acumen to lead EGA’s advisory team in Ireland to help clients navigate a complex public regulatory and business landscape across Ireland, Europe, and the world.

“For two decades, Catherine has delivered best-in-class advisory in public affairs and strategic communications. Her extensive experience and unmatched skillset make her an invaluable asset to our clients who seek to engage with government and stakeholders in Ireland,” says Chair of EGA EMEA, Rocco Renaldi. “We very much look forward to working with Catherine to build out our public affairs team in Dublin and provide our clients with an even stronger offering on the Irish market.”

Prior to EGA, Catherine founded two strategic communications consultancies, one of which she led for almost 20 years. In her executive role at DHR Communications, she focused on client service delivery, public affairs, stakeholder engagement, public relations, reputation management, insight development and project management. She also managed all aspects of business operations, including business development, corporate oversight, and people management. Most recently, she founded Lorne Consultancy where she provided strategic advice to clients embarking on transformative change for public benefit.

“I’m delighted to join the team at EGA and leverage my expertise to help clients navigate evolving political and legislative challenges, earn trust, and achieve business success.  As a committed globalist, the opportunity to collaborate with teams across the Edelman network is exciting,” says Catherine Heaney.

Catherine’s experience cuts across markets in Europe and Asia, where she has helped clients develop successful election campaigns, prepare long-term scenario plans, author framework reports for government-business cooperation, and oversee institutional review processes. Among her public interest roles, she has acted as Chairperson of the National Museum of Ireland for seven years, and she retains the role of Chairperson of the Citizen’s Information Board, the Irish State agency responsible for the provision of information and advice on public services and rights.
