Michael Plastino

Michael Plastino is Vice President at Edelman Global Advisory, a strategic business and government advisory firm specialized in helping clients navigate evolving geopolitics, build trust with governments, and achieve business success.​

At EGA, Mr. Plastino advises domestic and international companies on how to secure government contracts, influence procurement programs, shape public-policy decision-making, and successfully compete on major capital acquisition programs.​

Mr. Plastino helps clients navigate Canada’s procurement landscape and industrial policies to ensure that their strategic initiatives result in the greatest net benefit to Canada. Specifically, he designs and informs clients’ integrated campaigns.​

Previously, Mr. Plastino was Vice President at WPP Group’s Hill&Knowlton, a global communications and public affairs consulting firm.​

Over a decade at H&K, he worked on some of the largest and most complex government procurement files in Canada acting on behalf of clients headquartered in the United States, the United Kingdom, Sweden, Germany, Australia, Italy, Israel and France. He also worked on a high-profile $12-billion energy infrastructure project supporting community relations and advocacy efforts across the Province of Ontario. Additionally, he was the Public Affairs lead for Canada’s only domestically run coast-to-coast interbank network, responsible for developing Canada’s digital payment infrastructure.​

Mr. Plastino holds a Bachelor of Commerce (hons.) with a concentration in Managing People & Organizations from Carleton University. There he was a recipient of the Henry Marshall Tory Scholarship. ​

In 2021, Mr. Plastino was recognized by Canadian Defence Review Magazine as one of five Top Aerospace & Defence Professionals Under 40.
