Maria Joanico works from Edelman Global Advisory’s Brussels office, where she supports clients across sectors, including health, nutrition, government, and sustainability, on EU policy and public affairs strategies.
Prior to joining EGA, Ms. Joanico undertook internships at the Permanent Representation of Portugal to the European Union (Justice and Home Affairs Unit), at the Portuguese Ministry of Foreign Affairs for the Directorate-General for Foreign Policy (European Political Affairs Unit) and at the Portuguese High Commission for Migration.
Ms. Joanico holds a master's degree in international relations from NOVA University Lisbon and a bachelor's in European studies from the University of Lisbon. She is a native Portuguese speaker, with fluent English and intermediate French.
