Clarissa Schurter is a seasoned public affairs professional with over 15 years of experience advising key leaders on Parliament Hill in Ottawa.
She joined the Edelman Global Advisory Ottawa Office as Director of Public Affairs, where she focuses on overseeing the work stream for comprehensive public affairs and government relations campaigns. Her strengths lie in logistics, communications, and building relationships with the media.
While having had the opportunity to work across multiple sectors, Ms. Schurter has a passion for the defence and healthcare sectors.
In the past, Ms. Schurter has held several high-profile positions, including serving as the Press Secretary to the Minister of Justice and Attorney General of Canada, the Honourable Peter MacKay, Chief of Staff and Director of Operations to the Member of Parliament for Durham and former Leader of the Official Opposition, the Honourable Erin O’Toole, and as a member of the Priorities and Planning and Issues Management teams in the Office of Canada’s 22nd Prime Minister, the Right Honourable Stephen Harper.
Ms. Schurter holds a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from Carleton University and a Graduate Certificate in Public Relations from Toronto Metropolitan University. She is a highly respected professional in her field, known for her strategic thinking, attention to detail, and ability to build strong relationships with stakeholders.
