Amanda Deseure

Amanda Deseure serves as Edelman Global Advisory Canada’s Vice President, Digital Public and Government Affairs. Amanda leads, strategizes, and supports communications and digital campaigns for clients with a public affairs or advocacy focus.​

Prior to joining Edelman. Amanda was the Director of Digital at Syntax Strategic where she opened their first digital practice. In addition to executing the company’s digital offerings and managing a team of content strategists, Amanda provided strategic and functional support to all non-profit clients, specializing in hard-to-reach and equity-seeking groups.​

Before joining the team at Syntax, Amanda introduced and led all digital communications efforts at the Canadian Centre on Substance Use and Addiction (CCSA). During her time at CCSA, Amanda developed digital communications strategies for public education on cannabis legalization, youth knowledge products on substance use, and CCSA’s signature bi-annual conference.

Amanda also previously held the positions of Director of Communications and Manager of Socio-Economic Development at Pauktuutit Inuit Women of Canada. Amanda worked with Pauktuutit’s executives and board members to secure funds for new programs and build their first communications department. She also advised on advocacy strategies for the organization, working closely with government funders and members of the media, and travelled across Inuit Nunangat to lead community consultations to ensure advocacy, communications, and programmatic work was culturally relevant to Inuit women and girls.​

Amanda has experience working on critic files for Status of Women, Indigenous Affairs, and Workforce Development on Parliament Hill in Ottawa, where she led the promotion and communications efforts of parliamentary forums on women’s issues and precarious work for young people.​

Amanda holds a combined honours degree in Communications and Women and Gender Studies, and a Master of Political Management.
