Results of the 2023 Argentine Primary Elections
The election exposed the much-mentioned scenario of thirds, but not in the order predicted by the polls. The parties of Unión por la Patria (government), Juntos por el Cambio (main opposition), and La Libertad Avanza (opposition) produced results that would allow us to think of a scenario of a technical draw between the three political forces for the October general elections.
Despite the results, it is important to note that the primary scenario is not necessarily transferable to that of October. Participation is expected to increase at the general elections, considering that PASO was one of the lowest rates in a presidential election since Argentina’s return to democracy.
