Sailing to New Horizons: Exploring the Potential for Cruise Tourism to Contribute to Inclusive Growth in IORA Nations

How can cruise tourism contribute to the economies of the Indian Ocean Rim Alliance (IORA)

EGA India recently engaged as the knowledge partner at the India-IORA Conference on Cruise Tourism, organized by the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) and Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI). This high-profile event brought together key representatives from the Government of India, private sector, and IORA member states to discuss and explore the growth potential of cruise tourism in the region, along with opportunities for collaboration.

In preparation for the conference, EGA India developed a comprehensive knowledge paper titled "Sailing To New Horizons: Exploring the Potential for Cruise Tourism to Contribute to Inclusive Growth in IORA Nations." The knowledge paper was unveiled at the conference by representatives from the Ministry of External Affairs, Ministry of Tourism, FICCI, and other partners and was circulated to IORA member countries and dialogue partners.

EGA also led a speaker session focused on capacity building and knowledge sharing among IORA member countries. This session was instrumental in creating consensus and laying the foundation for ongoing dialogue, setting the stage for India's upcoming presidency of the IORA region in 2025.
